Dunsfold Collection announces 23-24 September public Open Weekend at its new museum building

The Dunsfold Collection Museum opens to mark 75 years of the Land Rover and 55 years since the acquisition of the Collection’s first vehicle in 1968.

The new museum also houses an unrivalled archive of Land Rover brochures, publicity material, manuals, handbooks, photographs, drawings and magazines, as well as a vast display of Land Rover memorabilia, together with the extraordinary John Parker collection of over 2,000 Land Rover models and toys.

On 11 June, Friends of the Collection and Wall of Fame donors were invited by the trustees to an exclusive and private opening of the new buildings, as a special ‘thank you’ for their help and support over the years.

Philip Bashall, trustee and Head of the Collection, said, “This is the culmination of my lifetime’s ambition to secure a permanent home for the Dunsfold Land Rover Collection that was started by my late father, Brian, in 1968. I know that he would be delighted that we have been able to achieve this major milestone.”

The Dunsfold Collection Museum will be hosting its inaugural public Open Weekend on 23-24 September 2023 and tickets are on sale now on the Collection website at £18, and free for children under the age of 13. Numbers are strictly limited on both days and must be booked in advance. The event will be open from 10am to 4pm each day, with refreshments available to purchase throughout, and free parking.  Tickets are not available at the gate, so visitors must book early to avoid disappointment.

The Collection is also offering private, curated tours for clubs and other groups. Further details on how to book are available on the Collection website.
