1983 Range Rover ‘In Vogue’ third series
Chassis number: SALLHAMV7AA139181
Registration number: A663 YGM
Engine type: 3.5 V8 Petrol
Gearbox type: 5 Speed
This is an example of the third series Range Rover ‘In Vogue’ Limited Edition. The In Vogues reflect the first serious steps by Land Rover to take the Range Rover up-market and the launch of the first series in 1981 was associated with an article in 'Vogue' magazine.
The first series In Vogues were 2-doors and came with a picnic hamper while the 4-door second series came with a branded coolbox. The third series came with the coolbox and the picnic hamper and these are now highly-prized by owners, many cars having lost their sets when they were sold on.
The third series In Vogue was launched in conjunction with the Daks autumn fashion collection at Simpsons of Piccadilly and some 325 were built. All were finished in Derwent Blue. The specification included inlaid American walnut trim, carpets and head and arm rests.
Our example was delivered new in August 1983 through Penta of Reading and has had a total of four owners, all of whom have cherished the car and used it sparingly.
Today, it still shows only 35,000 miles on the clock and retains its coolbox and picnic hamper.
