1984 Land Rover 110” Hi-Cap Army Evaluation Vehicle

Chassis number: SALLDHAV1AA212206

Registration number: 90 KB 62  A271 YGJ

Engine type: 3.5 V8 Petrol

Gearbox type: 4 Speed

Vehicle spec:
This is 110” Hi-Cap was the vehicle used by the MoD for trials prior to building the fleet of 110-based Pink Panthers for the SAS. Date into service was May 1984. It has the full length soft top which was only supplied to special order. The gearbox and axles are stamped ‘No. 1’.

After the trials it was kept by the army as an engine training aid at REME Arborfield in Berkshire. We acquired it via an internet auction site where it was being sold by a Land Rover breaker. It had been robbed of parts but we have tried to rebuild it to the condition it was in during the initial army trials.

Things to note are no fuel filler on the rear tub as the fuel tanks are under the seats; battery box in the centre seat position, Salisbury rear axle, full tilt, 900.16 tyres and military tow gear.
