VEHICLE SPEC.

THIS 110 IS A PROTOTYPE FROM THE FIRST BATCH OF AROUND 25 VEHICLES. DATE OF REGISTRATION IS 15.02 1980. THESE VEHICLES WERE TESTED IN MANY DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND IN MANY ENGINE AND BODY TYPES. ONLY 3 OTHER VEHICLES FROM THIS BATCH ARE KNOWN TO EXIST. THE VEHICLE LEFT THE ENGINEERING FLEET, FOR DESTRUCTION NOV 1983, BUT THE ROLLING CHASSIS & BODY WAS SOLD BY MISTAKE BY THE SCRAP DEALER. WHEN SCRAPPED THE ENGINE, G/BOX ASSY, PROPS, RADIATOR, WHEELS, DOORS AND EXHAUST WERE RETAINED BY LANDROVER. IT WAS IN DRY STORAGE FOR AROUND 25 YEARS WITH A L/R SPECIALIST WHO HAD IT AS A BACKBURNER PROJECT. DUNSFOLD PURCHASED IT VIA JOHN CRADDOCK’S AT THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER 2005. A FULL SYMPATHETIC REBUILD WAS DONE OVER XMAS 2005, TRYING TO RETAIN SOME OF THE ORIGINAL PAINT AND FEATURES. WE WOULD LOVE TO FIND ITS ORIGINAL ENGINE, BEARING No. 24FRF17.
