Chassis number: 26104724

Registration number: 17 BH 65

Engine type: 2.0 Petrol

Gearbox type: 4 Speed

Vehicle spec:

This is a Military Contract vehicle which was stripped down for use as a training aid in the sixties, and used at S.E.M.E. (the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) at Bordon, Hampshire.

It is rumoured that it was retained to show today’s army recruits what spark plugs, points and dynamos were!

The Dunsfold Collection tidied-up the vehicle and got it running in 1988 for a 40 years of Land Rover show at Aldershot. It runs and drives and was oldest serving Land Rover in Army service when it was retired in 2014.

Every recruit passing through Bordon possibly put a gum or sweetie wrapper in an orifice somewhere in it!
