1972 109” Portuguese Load Carrier

Chassis number: 92000389A

Registration number: HLF 110T / AF-96-65

Engine type: 2.25 Diesel

Gearbox type: 4 Speed

Vehicle spec:
This 109” was built as a load carrier in the early 1970s in Portugal from a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kit. It is capable of wading to bonnet height. The electrics were 24V and sealed.

The vehicle is based on a One Ton diesel chassis with heavy duty suspension, 900.16 wheels, low-ratio gearbox with winch and custom-made bodywork fabricated in Portugal.

Original photographs exist of trials in deep water and with a soft-top and troop seats fitted. The high body would keep the load dry while wading. The original exhaust would have been raised.

The 109” was sent to Land Rover in 1974 and purchased by Dunsfold in 1976.

A few of the original features are missing but otherwise it is a very unique Land Rover. It is show here as it was in the 1970s with a wire grille and its Portuguese number plates.
