2015 Defender 90 Autobiography Special Edition
Chassis number: SALLDWBP7FA470459
Registration number: L316 DEF
Engine type: 2.2 TDCi Diesel
Gearbox type: 6-speed Manual
To commemorate the end of Defender production in early 2016, Land Rover announced three Special Editions. Of these, the Autobiography 90 was perhaps the most exclusive. It was certainly the most expensive, with a list price of £61,845!
The company had announced that only 80 Autobiographies would be built, but such was the demand that in the end the production run was 100, and each lucky purchaser was presented with a limited-edition book documenting the Autobiography 90. Land Rover retailers were apparently restricted to just one vehicle each.
The Autobiography featured unique duo-tone paintwork. The interior was trimmed in matching Windsor leather including doors, dashboard and headlining, and the engine was tuned to increase power from 122PS to 150PS.
The Defender Autobiography reflects the factory’s own take on what a Defender taken to the max should look like, and we are delighted to have L316 DEF, in our view the ultimate registration number for a Defender, on loan to the Dunsfold Collection.
